RACE DIRECTOR NEWS – Entries are open and limited, don’t miss out.
On behalf of the Event Management Team, we would like to thank all our entrants for being patient whilst we work through the current COVIDSafe guidelines set out by DHHS and Victorian State Government that came into effect 27 July, 2021.
We are remaining very positive that our event will go ahead in a CovidSafe manner and based on that we have now RE-OPENED our 10km , Half-Marathon, Marathon and Marathon Team races. So if you have been waiting to enter please jump online now and grab a spot as they are limited, due to the current CovidSafe directions.
Unfortunately, we have had to change our race schedule to meet these restriction directions, and whilst we understand that may impact some athletes, we have re-shaped our schedule to maximise the number of athletes who can participate over the Festival weekend. We would now like to share with you changes to our race schedule.
Saturday 21 August
RiverConnect 2km Kids dash @ 2pm
Tailwind 7km Trail Run @ 3pm
Shepp News 10km @ 4pm
Sunday 22 August
Alpine Edge Shepparton Marathon @ 7am
Alpine Edge Team Marathon @ 7am
APEX Earthworks Half-Marathon @ 7:30am
Saturday 21 August from 1pm to 5pm
Sunday 22 August from 6am to 7:15am
Our 10km entrants are impacted the most in this scenario and we apologise for the rescheduling. In order to meet current restriction directions and maximise fields for athletes as well as rescheduling the 10km event to Saturday, we have also had to create a new course for our Half-Marathon that is separate to our Marathon course on Sunday’s schedule and each event will now have its own finish line
We will send an email out to all 10km runners who entered for Sunday 22 August in the next few days and give you options to move into Saturday, move up into a longer course or consider a Marathon Team (14km loop), rollover your entry or receive a full refund.
New course maps, FAQ’s and website details are all in the process of being updated so please remain patient as we work through this and we will publish as soon as we can.
We would like to acknowledge the resilience of the Shepparton Runners Club who host this event and the faith they have in us, the event management team to push on and provide a safe event for athletes and our community.
We cannot wait to see runners arriving at Victoria Park Lake ready to run and our regional city has also suffered during COVID due to lack of visitors and lockdowns. Please book and stay a night or two in Shepp, eat at our cafes and visit our watering holes to celebrate your run, but remember to distance, wear your mask and check-in wherever you are.
Come race day you will need to: ARRIVE, RUN, RECOVER and LEAVE….then celebrate!
We are trying our best to ensure we keep you up to date but please be patient if you do not receive a reply straight away.
If you have any queries, you can send a DM via social media or an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
