Hello to our amazing Shepparton Running Festival community.

Who would have thought that two days after our event cancellation our whole city would be pushed to the edge? It is like a 10KM run, something that we had to train for, but it has turned into a marathon.  Approximately 20,000 locals are currently in isolation, schools have closed and the exposure sites are increasing by the hour. But our community has rallied, and the testing lines are long and people are following the instructions from DHHS. Community members who are not in ISO are collecting and delivery essential items for others. Our community is amazing!

Firstly, we would like to thank you, our runners, for all your messages and support. Last Friday we had to make a call whether to proceed because Dan did not lock us down. Our Risk Management procedures came into play and for the safety of you, your regional communities and ours, we made the call to cancel the 2021 Campbell’s Shepparton Running Festival. It was definitely the right call as some of you had not started the drive and others could turn around and head home.  For those who did arrive in Shepparton please check the exposure sites and follow instructions.

Our fall-back date was 28 and 29 August. That will not work due to the current September 2nd lock-down and to be honest, we predict our lock-down will go on a little longer. The running calendar is very busy in the final third of this year due to other postponements so our cancellation will stand.

We have been reading all your comments, emails and direct messages and one message we have heard loud and clear is the call for a Virtual event.  This will give you the opportunity to participate or submit your results if you have already completed a run since race day.  Plus, a chance to say you participated in the 2021 Campbell’s Shepparton Running Festival, regardless of whether this is your first of one of many.

All entrants will also receive this information via an email, you will receive in the coming days.

2021 Campbell’s Shepparton Running Festival options:

  1. Rollover Entry for the 2022 event (valid for 12 months only)
  2. A refund less a $20 admin (as per our terms and conditions)
  3. Donate your entry to the Shepparton Runners Club (to assist with the financial loss incurred due to the late cancellation)
  4. Donate your entry to our charity partner the Hunter Boyle Foundation – we will pass on your donation and you will receive confirmation from the foundation
  5. Virtual Run $50 (cost includes admin and medal postage)
  6. Virtual Run $50 cost and refund the difference
  7. Virtual Run $50 and donate your existing entry fee to the Shepparton Runners Club

Regarding the 10km change of date correspondence we emailed on August 6th, we have recorded all the responses however, we will check these against the new options and then process the request.  For those whom we did not receive a response for the 10km please respond to these options above via the link.

Event Souvenir Shirt

For those who paid for an event shirt, we hope you will still accept your order. We are yet to calculate the postage on this item. For locals we will have a Shepparton pick up point when our city is out of lockdown. This is likely to be the Visitor Information Centre located at the new Shepparton Art Museum (SAM).
